509 HIGH STREET, PRAHRAN
6 - 16 NOVEMBER 2019
This exhibition is focused on a single natural form - the flower, and reflects a recognition of traditional painting while being progressively contemporary. Each mark is laid with quiet contemplation, a balance between the delicate and bold. The use of deliberate line and luminous strength of the metallic paint softens against the curves of the flowers and natural fibres of linen and Japanese washi paper. Layers of glazes and pigment with increasing opacity reflects on the quietude of the flower.
